Today was also my first time riding a bart lightrail train, and it felt pretty cool actually being able to ride one. When we finally arrived in San Jose State, we were quickly led by Mrs. Hentchske to the animation and illustration classroom. The professors were extremely inspirational and humorous. They showed us artworks and 3d models of students that belonged in the class and they were absolutely amazing. Even though the professors pointed out some mistakes, i personally think they were all very awesome. When we finished the session there, we went into the theater, where we were introduced to some of the Pixar staffs. It was pretty amazing having them explain to us what they do in the company. Although i fell asleep in some parts because it was, in my opinion, a bit tedious, the majority of the presentation was pretty cool. At the end of the presentation, i regretfully forgot to get an autograph from one of the staff members, however, i guess the experience will be carved into my memory for as long as I live, and in some ways, that counts as being as good as an autograph itself.
When we got out of the theater, we went and had lunch, I bought pepper crispy chicken and pudding milk tea while the others bought lobster balls (
When we left,
Today was the best day in a while, ive had so much fun. Christine's butt drying made it funny too. loool

I was checkin' up on my comments, and noticed a conversation about "keeping sketches" clean on my profile. I replied...but now that I think about it...I could have said more.
How I keep my sketches clean.
1.) I use a blank piece of paper (tissue works too) and I place it in between the artwork and my hand. This way, it reduces sweat and oil transfers from your hand. Keep your hands clean too...if you feel like you need to wash them...then do so.
2.) I use different shaped erasers (up to you how many you feel you need). I use 3. 1 big (good for large erasing), 1 sharp cornered (good for heaving erasing in narrow spots), and 1 kneaded eraser (good for the extra small spaces).
This method works for me, but maybe you'll find out what works for you. Keep up your artwork-you've got lots of room for growth.

oh and one more thing. Another way to get cleaner work is to reduce "sketch lines". Sketches are meant to be quick drawings...so it's okay to have excess lines. but when working on an actual drawing...try to reduce the extra lines that you don't need.
It's also helpful to lighten your grip and draw lighter lines. Lighter lines=easier to erase. When you sketch light, you can always go back to darken it.
Although, being an amateur myself hope this info will help.
(One more thing. Don't be ashamed to pick up a "how to draw manga" book, "Idiots guide to Manga drawing" or whatever. They have helpful tips that you can use to implement on your own style.)
